Ron Knight was one of the finest basketball players in Cal State L.A. history. He was named to the All-California Collegiate Athletic Association team in his first two seasons with the program in 1968 and 1969 and he was also named to the All-Pacific Coast Athletic Association when Cal State L.A. moved up to the NCAA Division I status in 1970.
He still holds the program record with an amazing 15.25 rebounds per game average in 1968 and his three-year career average of 13.95 rebounds per game is also still a program record.
Knight ended his career as the No. 3 scorer with 1,396 points and he also finished his career third in rebounds with 893.
Knight played for two seasons in the National Basketball Association after being a fifth-round pick of Portland in 1970 and he was with the Harlem Globetrotters for seven more seasons.
