A four-year letterwinner for Cal State L.A. from 1978-81, Juarez was a four-time Most Valuable Player and four-time All-California Collegiate Athletic Association selection.
Juarez was an All-Far West Region pick three times (1978, 1980, 1981) and was the conference Most Valuable Player in 1981. He also earned All-America honors in 1981.
Juarez went on to a successful coaching career that included a stint with Chivas USA as an assistant coach in 2010. He was also the NCAA Division II Coach of the Year at Cal Poly Pomona in 1999 after leading the Broncos’ women’s team to the national title game.
He was also the head coach and director of player personnel for the San Diego Spirit of the Women’s United Soccer Association and he has coached championship club teams as well as coached in the Olympic Development Program and several USA national teams.
