Recognized nationally as a pioneer in athletic training and sports medicine, “Doc” Fennessy served as Cal State L.A.’s head athletic trainer from 1960 through 1968.
In addition to his duties at Cal State L.A., Fennessy was also the head trainer of the U.S. men’s and women’s track and field teams in 1966-67.
Fennessy also served as chairman of Cal State L.A.’s Department of Health and Safety Studies in 1980-84.
