Cal State LA Athletics

2014: Had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles in his second and final season with the program. Appeared in all 21 games and started 18 times. Played a total of 1,032 minutes. Had five goals and four assists for 14 points. Was third on the team in scoring and tied for second in goals. Earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honorable mention. Had an assist and played 18 minutes in a season-opening 3-0 win over Western Washington on Sept. 4. Scored his first goal of the season in an 8-1 win over Saint Martin's on Sept. 6. Had the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Point Loma on Sept. 12. Had a pair of assists in a 4-1 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sept. 20. Had the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Oct. 3. Also had goals in a 3-1 win over Humboldt State on Oct. 19 and at Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 30. Played a season-high 65 minutes in an NCAA first-round playoff game against UC San Diego on Nov. 13. For his career, appeared in 40 games and started 32 times. Played a total of 2,029 minutes. Had seven goals and five assists for 19 points.

2013: Made significant contributions in his first year with the program. Appeared in 19 of 21 games and started 14 times. Played a total of 997 minutes. Finished the season with two goals and one assist for five points. Made his Cal State L.A. debut and played 43 minutes in a 3-0 win over Azusa Pacific on Sept. 5. Picked up his first goal in a 6-1 win over Saint Martin’s on Sept. 8. Scored a goal in the third minute of a 1-1 tie at Cal State Monterey Bay on Sept. 22. Had an assist in a 4-2 win over Cal State East Bay on Oct. 11. Was tied for second on the team in shots with 33.

At Oxnard College: Earned second-team All-Western State Conference honors in both his freshman and sophomore seasons. Had seven goals and eight assists as a sophomore. Team won the Western State Conference championship. Was the All-County Male Athlete of the Year for soccer. Team was ranked eighth in the nation in 2011.

At Pacifica High School: Earned first-team All-Pacific View League and second-team All-CIF honors.

Personal: Son of Sigifredo and Maria Cruz Torres. Majoring in sociology. Enjoys camping and hanging out with friends. Lists winning the Western State Conference championship and being ranked eighth in the nation at Oxnard College as his most exciting experiences in sports.
