Cal State LA Athletics

2015: Had a second great season with the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Appeared in 20 games and started 19 times. Played a total of 1,417 minutes. Had five goals and three assists for 13 points. Was second on the team in scoring. Earned first-team All-West Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Received All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors for a second straight year. Earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 honors and a CCAA Fall All-Academic Award. Had two goals to lead the Golden Eagles to a 2-1 win at Stanislaus State on Oct. 29. Scored his first goal of the season in a 4-0 win at Saint Martin's on Sept. 5. Also had the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win at Point Loma on Sept. 10 and had a goal in a 5-0 win over Hawaii-Hilo on Oct. 7. Assisted on a game-winning goal by Marvin Iskra in a 1-0 win at Cal State San Bernardino on Sept. 25. For his career, appeared in 41 games with 25 starts. Played a total of 2,212 minutes.

2014: Had an outstanding first season with the Golden Eagles. Was fifth on the team in scoring with three goals and five assists for 11 points. Earned All-CCAA honorable mention as a forward. Had a pair of game-winning goals. Scored the lone goal in the final minute of the first half of a 1-0 win over San Francisco State on Oct. 12 and had a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win at Cal State East Bay on Oct. 26. Picked up his first goal with the Golden Eagles in a win over Saint Martin’s on Sept. 6. Was second on the team with his five assists. Appeared in 21 games with six starts. Played a total of 795 minutes.

At Hofstra University: Appeared in 35 games with 31 starts in two seasons with the NCAA Division I program. Had one goal and one assist in 17 starts in 2013 and had two assists in 18 games with 14 starts in his first season. Was on the Colonial Athletic Association’s All-Academic team and on Hofstra’s Dean’s List.

At University of Bayreuth: Played on a club team that won the Bavaria indoor soccer championship in 2011 and 2012.

At Sportschule Erfurt: Was a member of the All-State team in Germany and participated in the tryout tournament for the Germany U-18 national team.

Personal: Son of Peter and Margaret Biste. Majoring in educational technology and leadership. Enjoys traveling, friends and soccer. Lists winning the NCAA Division II West Region championship with Cal State L.A. in 2014 as his most exciting experience in sports.
