Summary

Biography

2014: Had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles and completed a two-year playing career. Started all 21 games for Cal State LA and played a total of 1,616 minutes. Had two goals and four points. Earned second-team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors and first-team CoSIDA All-District 8 honors. Earned a California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic Award for a second straight year. Scored the game-tying goal in the first half of a 3-1 win over Humboldt State on Oct. 19 for his first goal of the season. Scored Cal State LA's lone goal in a 1-1 tie in an NCAA playoff game against UC San Diego on Nov. 13. Golden Eagles advanced on penalty kicks and went on to capture the West Region championship. Picked up the athletic department’s Academic Achievement Award (male) for 2014-15, winning the award for a second straight year. For his career, appeared in 42 games with 42 starts. Played a total of 2,838 minutes. Had three goals and two assists for eight points.
  
2013: Was a key player in the midfield while seeing his first playing time for the Golden Eagles. Started all 21 games for Cal State L.A. and played a total of 1,222 minutes. Finished the season with one goal and two assists for four points and was also instrumental in helping the Golden Eagles set a new program record for fewest goals allowed in a season and rank fifth nationally in goals against average. Made his Cal State L.A. debut and chipped in with an assist in a 3-0 win over Azusa Pacific on Sept. 5. Picked up a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win over Cal State East Bay on Oct. 11. Picked up the athletic department’s Academic Achievement Award (male) for 2013-14. Also received a California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic Award.

2012: Joined the Cal State L.A. program, but did not compete in any games and was a redshirt.

At the University of Las Vegas: Appeared in a total of 15 games over two seasons for the Rebels.

At Palo Verde High School: Competed in soccer and track and field. Earned all-state honors as a senior. Also received All-Region and All-City honors. Was the team’s Most Valuable Player and earned the Best Offensive Player award. Was a Gatorade Player of the Year nominee. Was captain of Las Vegas Premier and led team to back-to-back state championships. Was on the school’s Honor Roll.

Personal: Son of L.J. and Starr Panther. Majoring in psychology. Enjoys reading surfing, guitar, violin, art and reading the Bible. Lists training with Salomon Kalou and winning the 2013 CCAA Championship with Cal State L.A. as his most exciting experiences in sports.
