Cal State LA Athletics

2014: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Started all 21 games for the Golden Eagles and played a total of 1,937 minutes. Made his Cal State LA debut and played all 90 minutes in a 3-0 win over Western Washington on Sept. 4. Was a huge part of a defense that ranked among the best in program history and won the 2014 NCAA West Region championship.

At Santa Paula High School: Earned first-team All-Tri Valley League honors as a junior and senior. Was the captain and team Most Valuable Player as a senior and the defensive Most Valuable Player for the Tri-Valley League as a senior. Earned first-team All-County honors. Received Academic All-League honors as a junior and senior.

Personal: Son of Sergio and Rebecca Mendoza. Majoring in exercise science. Enjoys boxing and hanging out with friends and family. Lists winning the national championship in Maryland as his most exciting experience in sports.
