Biography

2011: Picked up a hit in his only plate appearance on Feb. 5 against Cal Poly Pomona. Missed the remainder of the season with an injury and received a medical red-shirt.
 
At Allen Hancock Junior College: Earned first-team Western State North All-Conference honors as an infielder after leading the team with a .427 batting average. Also earned a conference Gold Glove award.
 
At Sheldon High School: Was a three-time All-Conference selection and an Under Armour Pre-Season All-American as a senior. Was on the school’s Honor Roll all four years. Competed in baseball and basketball.
 
Personal: Son of David and Leslie Straka. Majoring in communications. Enjoys swimming, hiking and lifting weights. Lists playing in the Oregon 5A state championship game in his junior year of high school as his most exciting experience in sports.
