Cal State LA Athletics

2012: Was a big part of the pitching staff in his second and final year with the program. Made 12 appearances, including nine starts. Had a 3-7 record with a 6.95 earned run average. Had 16 walks and 44 strikeouts in 57 innings pitched. Was fourth on the team in innings pitched and fourth in strikeouts. Struck out a career-high 10 over 5 2/3 innings in a 10-6 win over Cal State Stanislaus on Feb. 18. Gave up only two earned runs and struck out five over 5 1/3 innings in a 6-5 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Feb. 24. Went a season-long eight innings and gave up nine hits and three runs to pick up his final victory in a 9-8 win over Sonoma State on April 14. For his career, made 26 appearances, including 21 starts. Had an 8-10 record and a 4.92 earned run average. Walked 37 and struck out 86 in 137 1/3 innings.

2011: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Compiled a 5-3 record with a 3.47 earned run average and was near the top of almost every statistical category. Shared the team lead in starts with 12, was second in innings pitched with 80 1/3, second in earned run average among starters and third on the team in strikeouts with 42. Picked up his first win as a Golden Eagle when he allowed just an unearned run and four hits over six innings against Grand Canyon on Feb. 12. Walked three and struck out a season-high eight. Limited conference champion UC San Diego to just three earned runs over a season-long 8 2/3 innings in a victory on April 1. Went 8 1/3 innings in his next start and allowed only two runs against Cal State Monterey Bay on April 9. Went five or more innings in 10 of his 12 starts and allowed three or fewer runs in nine of those outings. Was the 2011 Billie Jean King Scholarship recipient. Earned High Honors in the spring with a grade point average above 3.50.
 
At East Los Angeles College: Was the Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2010. Had a 4-3 record with a 3.82 earned run average in 2010. Made 11 starts and had two complete games. Walked just 15 and struck out 53 in 75 1/3 innings. Had a 1-5 record with an 8.74 earned run average in 2009. Made 14 appearances and started three times. Walked six and struck out 22 in 34 innings. Had one complete game and also recorded a save.
 
At Arcadia High School: Competed in baseball.
 
Personal: Son of David and Gabriela Arredondo. Majoring in psychology. Enjoys sleeping. Lists throwing a complete game against Compton as his most exciting experience in sports.
