2012: Returned from injury and put together a record-breaking season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Shared the department's 2011-12 Frank J. Candida Award with Georgio Bryant as Cal State L.A.'s top male athlete. Started all 48 games and set a new program record by hitting .451 with 79 hits in 175 at bats. Had nine home runs, 23 doubles, 47 runs scored and 44 runs batted in. Led the team in batting average, home runs, doubles, runs scored and RBI. Also drew a team-high 33 walks and had an on-base percentage of .533. Was named the West Region Player of the Year by Daktronics, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and the National Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings. Earned second-team All-America honors from all three organizations. Was also the California Collegiate Athletic Association Most Valuable Player after leading the conference in average, hits, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, runs scored, doubles and walks. Earned national Player of the Week honors after going 6-for-6 in a 21-13 win over Chico State with four doubles and one home run. The six hits tied a program record and the four doubles set a new standard. Went 9-for-15 with six runs scored and five RBI in the four-game series. Also had four four-hit games, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI against Cal State Stanislaus on Feb. 17, going 4-for-4 with a season-high four RBI against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Feb. 23, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and a home run against UC San Diego on April 28 and going 4-for-4 with two home runs, four runs scored and four RBI at Cal State East Bay on April 30. Hit a pair of solo home runs at Cal State San Bernardino on March 10. Had 23 multi-hit games, including five three-hit games and the four four-hit games. Hit safely in 39 of 48 games. For his career, appeared in 65 games and started all of them. Hit .437 with 108 hits in 247 at bats. Had 11 home runs, 30 doubles, 58 runs and 58 RBI. Was drafted by Tampa Bay in the 24th round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

2011: Was the team’s leading hitter before suffering a season-ending injury against Cal State East Bay on March 5. Hit .403 with two home runs and 14 RBI. Also scored 11 runs. Had 29 hits in 72 at bats. Hit safely in 15 of 17 games. Had a season-high four hits against California Baptist on Feb. 8 and matched that with four hits and three RBI against San Francisco State on Feb. 19. Went 9-for-19 in four-game series against the Gators with seven RBI. Had eight hits in 17 at bats in a four-game series against Grand Canyon. Also made six appearances in the mound and struck out seven in six innings of work.
 
At Riverside City College: Hit .302 with 48 hits in 159 at bats in 2009. Drove in 29 runs and scored 24 runs. Appeared in 43 games and started 41 times. Earned All-Orange Empire Conference second-team honors in 2008 after hitting .364 with four home runs, 31 RBI and 25 runs scored.
 
At Unidad Educativa Brookdale: Played on a summer league team, the ABD Bulldogs.
 
Personal: Son of Enrique Duran and Ana Lama. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys crossfit, surfing and ping-pong. Lists hitting a walk-off home run in a semi-final game in the Ecudorian Baseball League and pitching a no-hitter as his most exciting experience in sports.
