Cal State LA Athletics

2012: Had a strong season in the bullpen for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Made 18 relief appearances and had a 1-0 record with a 3.52 earned run average and two saves. Had seven walks and 10 strikeouts in 15 1/3 innings. Got two outs to end the eighth inning and picked up the victory when Cal State LA rallied in the ninth inning for a 7-6 win at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Feb. 25. Pitched a scoreless inning to get the save in a 5-2 win against UC San Diego on April 28. Pitched a scoreless inning with one strikeout to get the save in a 6-5 victory at Cal State East Bay on April 30. Didn't allow a run in 15 outings and finished the season with seven straight scoreless appearances covering 5 2/3 innings.

At Cathedral High School: Was the Camino Real League Pitcher of the Year in 2011 after going 10-4 with a 1.02 earned run average. Had six complete games and also picked up a save. Earned All-CIF honors.

Personal: Son of Mario and Pillar Luna. Majoring in sports nutrition. Enjoys baseball and video games. Lists pitching in the CIF semi-finals as his most exciting experience in sports.
