Cal State LA Athletics

2010: Contributed for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Appeared in four games with two starts. Went 1-1 with a 9.77 earned run average. Made four appearances with two starts. Had eight walks and 11 strikeouts in 15 2/3 innings pitched. Picked up the win after going a season-long five innings in a 17-7 victory at Cal State Monterey Bay on March 13. Walked two and struck out five and gave up six earned runs. Made his first start for the Golden Eagles and allowed three earned runs over 4 1/3 innings at San Francisco State on March 5. Made two relief appearances covering six innings in his final two outings for the program.

At Palomar College: Had a 3-1 record with a 3.24 earned run average in 2009. Appeared in 12 games and made 11 starts. Walked 18 and struck out 50 in 58 1/3 innings. Was 0-1 with a 0.66 earned run average in 2008 in nine relief appearances. Struck out 16 in 13 2/3 innings of work. Earned All-Conference honorable mention both seasons.

At Temecula Valley High School: Competed in baseball and hockey in high school. Earned first-team All-CIF honors and threw three no-hitters in his career, one as a junior and two as a senior.

Personal: Son of Tim and Denise Strom. Majoring in business administration. Enjoys snowboarding, video games, the beach, bowling and music. Lists throwing his first no-hitter in high school and throwing a complete game shutout at Palomar as his most exciting experiences in sports.
