Cal State LA Athletics

2010: Contributed to the bullpen in his one year with the program. Made seven appearances, all in relief. Went 0-0 with a 14.21 earned run average. Had 12 walks and six strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings pitched. Made his Cal State L.A. debut and gave up only two hits and an unearned run over a season-long 2 1/3 innings against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Feb. 13. Walked one and struck out a season-high four. Had two scoreless outings. Gave up only one hit and no runs with one strikeout in one inning of a 17-7 win at Cal State Monterey Bay on March 13. Also pitched a scoreless inning while giving up a hit and a walk at Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 27.

At Palos Verdes HS: Earned first-team All-Bay League honors and second-team All-L.A. City recognition. Was named to the All-Area team by the Daily Breeze in 2007-08. Earned second-team All-CIF honors as well. Had a 10-0 record as a junior and was named the Most Outstanding Pitcher.

Personal: Son of Nathan and Cynthia Halverson. Is an undeclared major. Enjoys photography and the beach. Lists throwing a no-hitter as a sophomore and hitting a home run in a CIF playoff game as his most exciting experiences in sports.
