Summary

Biography

2010: Was a big part of the rotation for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Made 12 appearances, including seven starts. Went 2-5 with a 5.86 earned run average. Had 13 walks and 33 strikeouts in 43 innings pitched. Allowed only six hits and two earned runs in 9 1/3 innings in five relief appearances to start the season. Picked up a save after pitching two scoreless innings in a 5-2 win over Cal State Stanislaus on Feb. 20. Moved to the starting rotation on March 6 and got no-decision in a 6-5 win at San Francisco State. Allowed five hits and three runs over 4 2/3 innings. Earned his first win of the season with six strong innings in a 6-3 win at Cal State Monterey Bay on March 14. Gave up six hits and two earned runs while not walking a batter and striking out five. Allowed five hits and two earned runs over five innings in an 11-9 victory over Chico State on April 10 for his second win. Struck out a career-high seven in five innings against Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 26. For his career, made 33 appearances with seven starts. Had a 4-7 record with a 4.91 earned run average and two saves. Had 26 walks and 63 strikeouts in 77 innings pitched.

2009: Was a top reliever out of the bullpen in his first season with the Golden Eagles. Led the pitching staff with a 3.71 earned run average. Compiled a 2-2 record. Walked 13 and struck out 30 in 34 innings pitched. Was second on the staff with 21 appearances. Blanked San Francisco State over the final three innings on Feb. 20 to record his only save of the season. Limited Grand Canyon to one hit and no runs over 3 2/3 innings on Feb. 13 to pick up his first win. Didn’t walk a batter and struck out three in that contest. Got the win over Cal State San Bernardino on March 14 by getting the final two outs of a game the Golden Eagles rallied to win in the bottom of the seventh on March 14. Allowed only one run in his last five outings covering 8 2/3 innings.

At Los Angeles Pierce College: Was the conference’s Relief Pitcher of the Year in 2007. Had a 2-2 record with six saves and a 4.50 earned run average.

At John Burroughs High School: Competed in baseball and earned All-League honors.

Personal: Son of David and Jacqueline Collard. Majoring in communications. Enjoys cards, golf, cooking and Harry Potter. Lists pitching against Spain’s National Team in Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium as his most exciting experience in sports. Has a brother who works at the UCLA Medical Center and a sister who attends USC.
