2008: Had a productive season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Appeared in 43 games and started 37 times. Hit .369 with 55 hits in 149 at bats. Had three home runs, 14 doubles, one triple, 33 runs scored and 37 runs batted in. Was named the CCAA Player of the Week after a torrid five-game stretch against Concordia and Cal State Monterey Bay. Hit .632 with 12 hits in 19 at bats for the week and helped the Golden Eagles to five consecutive victories. Went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI in an 11-3 win over Concordia on March 25 to start the week. Then went 8-of-14 in a four-game CCAA series against Cal State Monterey Bay with five runs scored and eight RBI. .Went 4-for-6 with two doubles, a season-high four runs scored and two RBI in a 16-3 win at San Francisco State on May 2. Also went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBI in the season finale at San Francisco State on May 4. Went 2-for-4 with a triple, home run and a season-high five RBI against Sonoma State on April 5. Hit a grand slam in the game. Had 18 multi-hit games, including six with three or more hits. Hit safely in 21 of the last 24 games of the season and raised his batting average from .196 to .369.

At Canyon HS: Competed in football, basketball and baseball. Earned All-Foothill League honors as a defensive back in football and made the All-Santa Clarita Valley First Team as an all-purpose player. Earned first-team All-League and All-Santa Clarita Valley in baseball. Earned All-League honors in basketball as a sophomore and junior.

Personal: Son of Tim Shanahan and Kim Villani. Majoring in business. Enjoys girls, sports and music. Lists winning a state championship in football as his most exciting experience in sports.
