Biography

2008: Made four pitching appearances for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Went 0-0 with an 18.90 earned run average. Had six walks and one strikeout in 3 1/3 innings pitched. Made his Cal State L.A. debut and allowed three hits and two runs in one inning in an 11-4 win over Cal Poly Pomona on Feb. 2. Retired the only batter he faced against Vanguard University in his final appearance of the season on March 17.

At Modesto Christian HS: Competed in baseball, basketball and football in high school. Earned All-League honors in baseball and was the league’s Defensive Player of the Year as a senior.

Personal: Son of Tom and Jodie Elrod. Is an undeclared major. Enjoys sports. Lists a Central Catholic baseball game as his most exciting experience in sports. Brother Tommy was a pitcher on the 2007 Cal State L.A. baseball team.
