Cal State LA Athletics

2008: Had a solid season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Made 17 relief appearances. Went 2-0 with a 5.47 earned run average. Had 18 walks and 16 strikeouts in 24 2/3 innings pitched. Also scored a run as a pinch runner in the ninth inning to tie a game against Sonoma State on April 6. Golden Eagles eventually won the game in 10 innings, 8-7. Made his Cal State L.A. debut and picked up a win in an 11-4 victory over Cal Poly Pomona on Feb. 2. Didn't allow a run and gave up just one hit in 2 2/3 innings. Picked up his second win after allowing only an unearned run in two innings of a 15-10 win against Cal State Monterey Bay on March 29. Walked two and struck out a season-high four. Had scoreless outings against Point Loma on April 29 and at San Francisco State on May 2 to close out the season. Gave up four hits and struck out two in three innings.

At Buena High School: Earned first-team All-Channel League and second-team All-Ventura County honors. Was Buena High School’s Pitcher of the Year. Was also a Ventura County Hall of Fame nominee.

Personal: Son of Dann and Jodi Plum. Majoring in civil engineering. Enjoys golf. Lists having his first home run ever be a walk-off homer as his most exciting experience in sports.
