Cal State LA Athletics

2008: Had an outstanding freshman season in his one year with the program. Appeared in 48 games and started 42 times. Hit .331 with 55 hits in 166 at bats. Had four home runs, 16 doubles, one triple, 28 runs scored and 32 runs batted in. Went 4-for-4 with three runs scored in an 8-2 win at Cal Poly Pomona on April 24. Went 3-for-5 with two home runs and three runs scored in a 16-5 win at San Francisco State on May 3. Went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI in a 16-4 win at Cal State San Bernardino on April 19. Finished the season with an 11-game hitting streak. Was 24-for-43 (.558) with 17 runs scored and 13 RBI.

At La Quinta High School: Competed in football and baseball. Was named to the Orange County All-Star team and earned All-CIF football and baseball honors. Earned All-League honors all four years in baseball.

Personal: Son of Francisco and Maria R. Ramirez. Is an undeclared major. Enjoys eating nachos and playing Madden games. Lists scoring the winning touchdown in double overtime in football and going to Italy and winning a gold medal in baseball as his most exciting experiences in sports.
