LOS ANGELES – Cal State LA had a new record 82 student-athletes earn California Collegiate Athletic Association academic distinction for 2025-26, the conference announced on Wednesday.
The new record easily surpassed the previous record of 63 set in 2024-25 and is an increase of 29 from the 53 who were awarded two years ago.
A total of 1,209 student-athletes from the 12 CCAA institutions collected 2025-26 CCAA All-Academic honors for posting a 3.40 grade-point average or higher and competing in a conference-sponsored sport during the designated academic year.
The CCAA began handing out All-Academic honors in 2005-06, and the 1,209 selections set the conference record, eclipsing the 1,150 selections set last year.
"Congratulations to the 1,209 student-athletes who earned a place on the 2025-26 CCAA All-Academic team," CCAA Commissioner Allen Hardison said. "Surpassing 1,200 honorees and establishing a new all-time conference record is an extraordinary accomplishment. It reflects the tremendous dedication our student-athletes bring to their academic responsibilities while also training, competing and serving as leaders within their campus communities.
"I also want to thank the faculty, coaches, academic advisors and administrators throughout the conference who support or student-athletes and help make achievements such as this possible."
Cal State LA was one of eight returning CCAA universities that showed an increase in 2025-26, climbing from 63 to 82.
The CCAA and NCAA Division II support the educational mission of college athletics by fostering a balanced and inclusive approach in which student-athletes learn and develop through their desired academic pursuits, civic engagement within their communities and athletic competition, creating a life in the balance.
The award demonstrates the academic achievements of student-athletes throughout the CCAA's 12 member institutions. It illustrates one of the many ways student-athletes take advantage of the unique opportunity Division II provides to compete in the classroom, on the field, in their career, for their causes, and on their terms.
In addition to the 82 student-athletes who earned CCAA All-Academic honors, the Golden Eagles also had eight student-athletes receive PacWest Conference All-Academic honors, raising the total of Cal State LA student-athletes honored for 2025-26 to a record 90.
