Cal State LA Athletics

2026: Battled through injury through his second and final season for the Golden Eagles. Made three appearances and pitched a total of three innings. Had a 0-0 record with a 14.40 earned run average. Made his season debut and pitched 2 1/3 innings at Hawaii Pacific on Jan. 31. Allowed four hits and seven runs with four walks and one strikeout. Didn’t make his next appearance until tossing one inning and allowing a run at Cal State San Bernardino on March 21. Made his final appearance and had his best outing of the season by throwing 1 2/3 scoreless innings against Chico State on March 28. Didn’t allow a walk or hit and struck out one. For his career, appeared in 16 games with 13 starts. Had a 2-4 record with a 7.70 earned run average. Walked 34 and struck out 59. Earned a 2025-26 D2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award, 2025-26 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors and 2026 CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll recognition.

2025: Was a major part of the starting rotation for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Shared the team lead in starts with 13. Had a 2-4 record with a 7.19 earned run average. Walked 29 and struck out 56 over 66 1/3 innings. Led the team in strikeouts and was second in innings pitched. Made his Cal State LA debut and went five strong innings in a 5-2 win at Vanguard on Feb. 1. Allowed six hits and two runs while walking one and striking out a season-high seven. Picked up his first win by allowing only four hits and one earned run over six strong innings in a 9-5 win at Stanislaus State on March 9. Got his second win after allowing only five hits and one run over seven outstanding innings in an 11-1 win at Cal State East Bay on April 5. Walked two and matched his season-high with seven strikeouts. Allowed only four hits and one run in a strong six-inning outing against Cal State San Marcos on March 2. Walked two and struck out six. Went five or more innings in eight of his starts.

At East Los Angeles College: Appeared in 10 games with nine starts in 2024 with a 1-5 record and a 6.17 earned run average. Struck out 46 in 42 1/3 innings pitched. Also made 11 appearances with three starts in 2023. Was 1-4 with a 7.40 earned run average and had 18 strikeouts in 20 2/3 innings pitched.

At Roosevelt High School: Was the LA City Eastern League Most Valuable Player and LA City Section Pitcher of the Year. Was on the Principal’s List Honor Roll.

Personal: Son of Agustin Zepeda and Rosalva Lomeli. Majoring in business administration. Enjoys music, hiking and working out. Lists making it to the semifinals at USC in high school after not doing so since 2001 as his most exciting experience in sports.
