2026: Was a key member of the pitching staff once again for the Golden Eagles in his third year with the program. Went 4-4 with a 6.98 earned run average and one save. Walked 36 and struck out 37 in 49 innings pitched. Appeared in 12 games with nine starts. Was fourth on the team in wins, fourth in innings pitched and fourth in strikeouts. Picked up his first career save with a scoreless inning of relief in a 4-2 win at Chaminade on Feb. 1. Worked five solid innings to get his first win of the season in an 8-6 victory at Cal State Monterey Bay on March 8. Allowed four hits and three runs in the start. Recorded his second straight win and matched a career high with eight strikeouts in a 7-3 win over Stanislaus State on March 15. Allowed only three hits and one run over six innings. Went six strong innings to pick up his third win, an 8-4 victory over Chico State on March 29. Allowed seven hits and four runs. Pitched a season-high seven innings in a 7-4 win over Cal Poly Pomona on April 19. Struck out seven and allowed five hits and three runs.

2025: Had a historic season for the Golden Eagles in his second year with the program. Tossed the program’s first no-hitter since 2007 in a 7-1 win at Cal Poly Pomona on March 22. Walked four and struck out six in the seven-inning nightcap of a doubleheader. Worked around three errors and allowed only an unearned run in the first inning. Took a huge jump up from his freshman season and became the team’s best starter as a sophomore. Had a 4-7 record with a 4.23 earned run average in 13 starts. Led the team with 72 1/3 innings pitched. Walked 32 and struck out 50. Shared the team lead with 13 starts and led the starters in wins and earned run average. Earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Made his first career start for the Golden Eagles and allowed four hits and three runs over four innings. Picked up his first win at Cal State LA with a seven-inning gem against Cal State San Marcos on March 1. Allowed only an infield hit in seven innings with three walks and five strikeouts in a 6-0 victory. Was the first of four consecutive victories. Allowed only two hits and three earned runs in 5 2/3 innings of a 5-4 win at Stanislaus State on March 8. Allowed 10 hits and two runs in a seven-inning complete game over San Francisco State on March 15 and then recorded the no-hitter at Cal Poly Pomona on March 22. Got the start and pitched 6 2/3 strong innings against Chico State in a CCAA Tournament game on May 7. Had a career-high eight strikeouts over five innings against Regis on Feb. 22. Led the team with four complete games.

2024: Made four appearances on the mound in his first year with the program. Had an 0-1 record with a 6.75 earned run average. Allowed four hits and four runs with five walks and five strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. Made his Cal State LA debut and pitching a season-high three innings at Chaminade on Feb. 2. Didn’t allow a hit or a run over his next three appearances. Struck out two of the three batters he faced in a win over La Sierra on Feb. 17. Also tossed a scoreless inning at Cal State Monterey Bay on March 29.

At Ganesha High School: Competed in baseball and football. Team won a CIF championship.

Personal: Son of Jason and Elizabeth Gutierrez. Majoring in business. Enjoys running, working out and socializing. Lists throwing a no-hitter as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he has two brothers, one a twin and the other an older brother.
