Cal State LA Athletics

2025: Made contributions to the Golden Eagles out of the bullpen in his second year with the program. Appeared in five games and had a 0-0 record with a 1.69 earned run average. Had four walks and two strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings pitched. Made his Cal State LA debut and allowed two unearned runs against Regis on Feb. 22. Got the final out of the sixth inning at Cal State East Bay on April 5. Pitched a season-long 1 2/3 innings and allowed two hits and no runs against Cal State San Bernardino on April 27. Closed out a 16-5 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills with a scoreless ninth inning on May 1. Had three scoreless outings on the season. Earned a 2024-25 D2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award, 2024-25 CCAA All-Academic honors and 2025 CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll recognition.

2024: Was on the roster, but did not compete in any games for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program.

At San Francisco State: Made seven appearances, all in relief, as a freshman for the Gators in 2023. Pitched a total of 9 2/3 innings and had five strikeouts. Pitched a season-high 2 2/3 innings and had a season-high three strikeouts against Cal Poly Pomona on April 29. Was part of a combined shutout against Chico State on April 11 with a scoreless inning. Pitched one inning and allowed only an unearned run in a win over Cal State LA on April 1. Had a 0-0 record with a 6.52 earned run average. Was named the program’s Freshman of the Fall. Earned 2022-23 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors.

At St. John Bosco High School: Was a Freshman of the Year and a team Most Valuable Player during his career. Was also a scholar-athlete three times and was an Honor Roll student.

Personal: Son of Jesse and Lori Paderez. Majoring in business management. Enjoys hunting and fishing and anything outdoors. Lists sweeping rival Mater Dei three games in a row during his senior year in high school as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he comes from a big family with two sisters and one brother.
