Two Golden Eagles Earn Academic All-District Honors

LOS ANGELES -- Two members of Cal State LA's baseball team have been named to the 2026 CSC Academic All-District Baseball Teams, selected by the district's College Sports Communicators, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Carson Panarisi and Alberto Prado both earned the all-district academic honors for the Golden Eagles.

The awards honor student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program (formerly known as the CoSIDA Academic All-America program) recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions - NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be considered for the honor, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must compete in 90 percent of the team's games or must start 66 percent of the games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings. Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically to be eligible.

Panarisi, a junior outfielder, hit .331 for the Golden Eagles in 2026 with 45 hits in 136 at bats. He had two home runs, 28 runs batted in and 26 runs scored. Panarisi was third on the team in batting average and fifth in runs batted in. He appeared in 41 games with 38 starts.

He is a studio art major and carries a 3.58 grade point average.

Prado, a graduate student third baseman, hit .294 for the Golden Eagles with 59 hits in 201 at bats. He was one of only three players to start all 51 games for Cal State LA. He had six home runs, 43 runs batted in and 42 runs scored. He was tied for second on the team in home runs, second in RBI and fourth in runs scored. He led the team in at bats.

He is a communmication studies major and carries a 3.70 grade point average.

Both Panarisi and Prado are earning the academic all-district honors for the first time.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26  Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
