Biography

At Rio Hondo College: Had a 2.57 earned run average with 21 relief appearances in a 40-game season as a freshman. Had a 2-3 record with one save in 40 appearances in his two-year career. Had 40 strikeouts in 62 innings pitched.

At St. Anthony High School: Maintained a 4.0 grade point average during high school. Did not play sports in high school, only travel baseball.

Personal: Son of Josh and Susana Covarrubias. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys playing instruments, piano and guitar. Lists a game against El Camino when he came in and pitched two scoreless innings for his first college win and pitching a complete game with 11 strikeouts in seven innings in travel ball at a showcase as his most exciting experiences in sports. Notes he played with his brother both seasons at Rio Hondo.
