Biography

2023: Was a big part of the bullpen in his second and final season with the program. Made 10 appearances, all in relief. Had a 1-0 record with a 12.00 earned run average. Pitched a total of 15 innings. Picked up the win in a 9-7 victory over Cal State San Bernardino on April 18. Allowed only one run over two innings. Pitched a season-long 3 1/3 innings and gave up four hits and five runs in a 10-9 win over Colorado School of Mines on Feb. 18. Allowed no runs in three appearances. For his career, had a 2-2 record with a 7.50 earned run average. Made 21 appearances with two starts and pitched a total of 42 innings. 

2022: Made significant contributions to the pitching staff in his first season on the field with the Golden Eagles. Made 11 appearances with two starts starts. Had a 1-2 record with a 5.00 earned run average. Pitched a total of 27 innings. Made his Cal State LA debut and pitched one inning against Montana State Billings on Feb. 5. Picked up his lone win with 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief in a 12-11 victory over Cal Poly Pomona on April 30. Allowed only one hit and one walk and struck out three. Pitched a season-long 7 2/3 innings in a strong start at San Francisco State on May 6. Scattered 11 hits and gave up only two earned runs and got a no-decision in a 4-3 Cal State LA win. Didn’t walk a batter and struck out two. Made his first start for the Golden Eagles and went two innings against Stanislaus State on Feb. 25.

2021: Was on the roster, but team did not compete due to COVID-19.

At Los Angeles Valley College: Earned second-team All-Conference honors and was named the team’s Pitcher of the Year. Recorded a 4-4 record with two complete games and one save in 2019 while posting a 4.92 earned run average. Led the team with 78 2/3 innings pitched and had 59 strikeouts. Went 2-1 in four starts as a freshman in 2018.

At Notre Dame High School: Competed in baseball, basketball and football. Earned Freshman Athlete of the Year and freshman and junior varsity Most Valuable Player awards in baseball. Also earned a junior varsity Most Valuable Player award in football and a freshman Most Valuable Defensive Player award in basketball.

Personal: Son of Harold and Miriam Rodriguez. Majoring in business management. Enjoys playing MLB The Show and making gourmet foods. Lists winning a league title in his school as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he won a title in the 2013 RBI World Series.
