Cal State LA Athletics

2023: Enjoyed his best season in his second and final year with the program. Appeared in 36 games with 29 starts. Was second on the team with a .353 batting average. Had 41 hits in 116 at bats with two home runs, 28 runs batted in and 19 runs scored. Hit his first home run in his first start of the season in an 8-4 win over The Master’s on Feb. 3. Went 3-for-4 with a double, a two-run home run and a two-run single. Drove in a career-high four runs in the game. Had a career-high four hits in a 15-8 win at Cal Poly Pomona on April 6. Hit his second home run against Cal State San Bernardino on April 25. Had a big series against Cal State Monterey Bay, going 9-for-17 with four runs scored and six RBI. Had a pair of three-hit games in the series. Hit safely in 22 games and had 12 multi-hit games, including six games with three or more hits. An outstanding student as well, earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors. Earned 2022-23 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors and 2023 CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll recognition. Also earned a 2022-23 D2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award. For his career, hit .350 with 43 hits in 123 at bats. Had two home runs, 28 RBI and 21 runs scored.


2022: Made contributions for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Appeared in six games with one start. Hit .286 with two hits in seven at bats. Scored two runs. Made his Cal State LA debut as a pinch hitter at Cal State San Bernardino on March 27. Collected his first hit with a ninth-inning single against Chico State on April 3. Also picked up a ninth-inning single at Cal State Monterey Bay on April 8. Made his first start for Cal State LA on April 9 at Cal State Monterey Bay. Scored a pair of runs and had a stolen base in the game. Earned 2021-22 CCAA All-Academic honors and 2022 CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll recognition.

At Mt. San Antonio College: Was the team’s Fall League Most Valuable Player and earned a Notable Scholar Award.

At Diamond Bar High School: Earned first-team All-League honors and won the team’s Offensive Player of the Year award. Also earned All-League Academic honors and was a Student of the Month.

Personal: Son of Jamie and Nora Moran. Majoring in business administration. Enjoys reading, lifting and meditating. Lists hitting for the cycle, a walk-off hit and an All-Star game appearance as his most exciting experiences in sports. Notes he is interested in law enforcement after college.
