Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Was one of the team’s best pitchers in his final year with the program. Had a 2-3 record in 11 appearances. Was second on the team with 48 2/3 innings pitched. Appeared in 11 games with six starts. Had eight walks and was second on the team with 37 strikeouts. Allowed only two hits and an unearned run over 5 1/3 innings to get the win in a 6-3 victory over Cal State East Bay on April 6. Earned his first career victory with a strong relief performance in a 17-9 win over Chico State on March 22. Gave up only one run on five hits through 3 2/3 innings. Pitched a career-high six scoreless innings and got a no decision at Sonoma State on April 12. Also pitched six innings in his final start and recorded a career-high eight strikeouts with no walks against Stanislaus State on May 3. For his career, appeared in 18 games with 12 starts. Had a 2-8 record with a 5.35 earned run average. Had 19 walks and 52 strikeouts in 77 2/3 innings pitched.

2023: Became a fixture in the starting rotation down the stretch for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Made seven appearances with six starts and compiled an 0-5 record with a 7.22 earned run average. Pitched a total of 28 2/3 innings and recorded 15 strikeouts with 11 walks. Made his Cal State LA debut and pitched one inning against Cal State San Marcos on March 19. Made his first start and tossed four innings at Stanislaus State on March 26. Allowed only two runs over five innings at Cal Poly Pomona on April 8. Pitched a season-long six innings and allowed only three earned runs at Cal State East Bay on April 23.

At MidAmerica Nazarene: Made 38 appearances and 14 starts in two seasons for the Pioneers. Had a 4-6 record with a 5.24 earned run average in 2022. Made 18 appearances in 14 starts. Tossed three complete games. Was second on the team with 80 2/3 innings pitched. Was also second on the team with 86 strikeouts. Appeared in 20 games, all in relief, in 2021 and had a 3-2 record with a 3.63 earned run average and a team-high five saves. Earned All-Conference honorable mention.

At Silverado High School: Earned All-CIF honors once and All-League honors three times.

Personal: Son of Eric Navarrete and Angela Quadros. Majoring in communications. Enjoys playing video games, going to the gym, and spending time with family and friends. Lists making it to the World Series at MidAmerican Nazarene for the first time in school history as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he has a twin sister named Vanessa.
