Biography

2024: Had another solid season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Appeared in 21 games with nine starts. Hit .119 with one home run, five runs batted in and six runs scored. Was outstanding defensively and handled 18 chances without an error. Hit a two-run home run against Chaminade on Feb. 2. Earned California Collegiate Athletic Association 2024 Spring Academic Honor Roll recognition. For his career, appeared in 80 games with 48 starts. Hit .243 with 46 hits in 189 at bats. Had seven home runs with 37 runs batted in and 34 runs scored.

2023: Had another strong season for the Golden Eagles in his second year with the program. Appeared in 35 games with 22 starts. Hit .250 with 21 hits in 84 at bats. Hit five home runs and had 22 RBI. Scored 11 runs. Was second on the team in home runs. Hit a pair of home runs and drove in five runs in a 13-2 win over Sonoma State on April 15. Hit a three-run home run in the first inning and added a two-run shot in the seventh. Hit his first home run of the season, a two-run shot, in a 4-2 win at Stanislaus State on March 25. Also hit a two-run home run in a 9-7 win over Cal State San Bernardino on April 18 and hit a solo home run against Cal State Monterey Bay on April 30. Hit safely in 11 games and had six multi-hit games. Was named Cal State LA’s male recipient of the Dr. Hal Charnofsky Award, presented for academic and achievement by the CCAA. Earned 2023 CCAA Spring Honor Roll recognition.

2022: Had a strong season for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Appeared in 24 games and started 17 times. Hit .317 with 20 hits in 63 at bats. Hit one home run and had 10 runs batted in. Also scored 17 runs. Had a season-high three hits with a home run and two RBI against Cal State East Bay on April 15. Scored all three runs for the Golden Eagles in the game. Also had three hits with three RBI and two runs scored against Stanislaus State on Feb. 27. Had only four errors in 93 chances for a fielding percentage of .957. Earned 2021-22 CCAA All-Academic honors and 2022 CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll recognition.

At West Los Angeles Junior College: Was limited to six games due to injury in 2019. Hit .264 in 19 games in the shortened 2020 season. Had a on-base percentage of .350 and a slugging percentage of .415.

At Saint Monica Catholic High School: Played four years of varsity baseball (2015-18) and was the team captain in 2017 and 2018. Earned first-team All-League honors in 2017 and 2018 and received the Connelly Award for Academic and Athletic Excellence in 2018. Competed in baseball, basketball and football.

Personal: Son of Anthony Angel and Michelle Javellana. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys golf cart driving, playing video games, and eating Captain Crunch. Lists hitting a home run at Cal State LA in his final home at bat in the 2023 season as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he has three siblings, Scarlett, Sophia and Maximus.
