Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Appeared in two games for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Made one start and one relief appearance. Didn’t allow a hit in his two innings pitched. Went 0-1 with a 4.50 earned run average while walking three and striking out two. Made his Cal State LA debut and pitched one inning in an 11-2 win against Chaminade on Feb. 4. Allowed only an unearned run with no hits, one walk and one strikeout. Got the start and pitched the first inning against Stanislaus State on May 4. Allowed no hits and one run with two walks and one strikeout.  

At Hiram College: Made 16 appearances on the mound in three seasons with the program. Made a career-high nine appearances with seven starts in 2021. Pitched 34 innings and had a pair of complete games. For his career, made nine starts and pitched a total of 40 2/3 innings with 48 strikeouts. Had a 1-6 overall record. Earned NCAC Academic Honor Roll recognition in 2023.

At Quartz Hill High School: Earned three varsity letters and team won three consecutive Golden League titles.

Personal: Son of Daniel and Claudia Quintero. Pursuing a Master’s degree in real estate management. Enjoys fishing, golf, running, hiking and traveling. Lists picking up his first collegiate win in his sophomore season with a complete-game, eight-strikeout performance as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he is a first-generation college student.
