Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Was a big part of the pitching staff for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Appeared in 14 games with six starts. Went 1-3 with a 10.09 earned run average. Had 29 strikeouts in 33 innings. Made his Cal State LA debut and got his first start in a 4-3 win over Hawaii-Hilo on Feb. 2 in Hawaii. Allowed one hit and one run over five outstanding innings. Walked three and struck out a season-high seven, but got no decision. Got the final two outs in the seventh inning and picked up the win in a 4-3 victory over Cal Poly Pomona on April 20. Struck out one of the two batters he faced. Pitched a season-high six innings at Cal State San Marcos on Feb. 24. Gave up two hits and four earned runs. Walked three and struck out five.

At Nevada-Reno: Made 13 appearances, all in relief. Compiled a 2-0 record with 15 strikeouts in 16 innings. Struck out two over 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to pick up his first win at Abilene Christian on Feb. 19. Had four strikeouts and allowed only an unearned run over two innings at Oregon State on March 15. Picked up his second win against UNLV on March 18. Threw a scoreless inning of relief in three straight outings: against San José State on April 2, at California on April 10, and against Air Force on April 16.

At Xavier: Appeared in 30 games over two seasons with four starts. Pitched in 14 games with four starts as a sophomore in 2022. Threw a total of 18 2/3 innings and had 16 strikeouts. Made 16 appearances as a freshman and had a 3-1 record with a 7.08 earned run average. Pitched a scoreless inning against Georgetown and 1 2/3 scoreless innings against Creighton in back-to-back games to help Xavier hold onto wins in both games.

Boulder High School: Played four years of varsity baseball. Earned honorable mention All-State, first-team all-conference and second-team All-Front Range League honors during his career.

Personal: Son of Brendan Chatham and Leslie Stafford. Enjoys golf and wearing sunglasses. Lists playing in the Northwoods League summer ball as his most exciting experience in sports.
