Biography

2024: Had another outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Earned National College Baseball Writers of America All-West Region honorable mention. Also earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Hit .350 with six home runs, 42 runs batted in and 49 runs scored. Was second on the team in runs batted in and runs scored. Was named the CCAA Player of the Week and the NCBWA Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 12-18 after going 10-for-17 in four games against Azusa Pacific and La Sierra with two home runs, nine RBI and seven runs scored. Matched a career-high with four hits in two games, including a 4-for-5 performance with four runs and four RBI in a 17-14 win at San Francisco State on April 27 that included a grand slam home run. Tied a career-high with five RBI in a 10-1 win at Azusa Pacific on Feb. 13 that included a three-run home run. Had a 16-game hitting streak during the season. Hit safely in 38 games and led the team with 22 multi-hit games that included seven games with three or more hits. For his career, appeared in 98 games, all starts. Hit .373 with 146 hits in 391 at bats. Had 17 home runs, 93 RBI and 94 runs scored.
2023: Had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Earned first-team All-West Region honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America and the D2 Conference Commissioner’s Association. Also earned first-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors and was named the CCAA Newcomer of the Year. Hit .398 with 11 home runs, 51 runs batted in and 45 runs scored. Led the team in hits (76), home runs, RBI, total bases (130), on-base percentage (.450) and slugging percentage (.681). Finished the regular season leading the conference in hits and total bases while ranking third in home runs, runs batted in and doubles (17). Made a dazzling debut for the Golden Eagles, going 4-for-4 and hitting for the cycle in a 15-2 win over Providence Christian College on Feb. 2. Also went 4-for-4 with three home runs and a triple with three runs scored and a season-high five RBI in a 12-2 win over Cal State San Marcos on March 18. Also had a home run and five RBI in a 13-5 win to open the series on March 17. Was named the CCAA and West Region Player of the Week for the week of March 13-19 after going 9-for-16 with four home runs, 12 RBI and five runs scored in the four-game series. Hit safely in 40 of 48 games and had 25 multi-hit games, including nine with three or more hits. Finished the season with a 13-game hitting streak that included nine multi-hit games.

At Loyola Marymount: Earned Loyola Marymount’s 2020-21 Male Sports Performance Athlete of the Year Award and was on the 2019 West Coast Conference Tournament winner. Appeared in 79 games with 55 starts. Had three home runs and 24 RBI in 233 at bats.

At Desert Christian High School: Was the team varsity captain from 2015-18 and earned first-team All-CIF and All-League honors from 2016-18. Named Desert Valley League Most Valuable Player in 2018. Earned second-team All-CIF honors in 2015. Was a PG Pre-Season Underclassman All-American in 2017 and a PG Pre-Season All-American and All-Region in 2018.

Personal: Son of Joe and Suzanne Piotrowski. Majoring in sociology/real estate. Enjoys drawing and working out. Lists winning the WCC Tournament and making the NCAA playoffs as his most exciting experience in sports. Team was in the same regional as UCLA, Baylor and Omaha and reached the championship game after beating No. 1 UCLA in an early-round game. Graduated from Loyola Marymount with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology Science and notes he is a leap year baby.
