2024: Had another strong season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Appeared in 22 games with 15 starts. Hit .262 with one home run, 10 runs batted in and 10 runs scored. Had 17 hits in 65 at bats. Went 3-for-5 with a home run, a career-high tying four RBI and three runs scored in a 15-11 win at Cal State San Marcos on Feb. 23. Hit safely in 12 games with four multi-hit games. For his career, appeared in 59 games with 47 starts. Hit .294 with 53 hits in 180 at bats. Hit five home runs with 42 RBI and 33 runs.

2023: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Appeared in 37 games with 32 starts. Hit .313 with four home runs, 32 runs batted in and 23 runs scored. Was third on the team in home runs, second in RBI and fourth in batting average. Made his Cal State LA debut with a start against The Master’s on Feb. 3. Got his first hit against Montana State Billings on Feb. 7. Picked up his biggest hit of the season with a pinch-hit walk-off three-run home run in a 9-8 win over Cal State Monterey Bay on April 28. Had a season-high four hits while going 4-for-4 with one run scored and two RBI in a 10-9 win over Colorado School of Mines on Feb. 18. Went 9-for-16 with three doubles, six RBI and three runs scored in the four-game series. Hit his first home run of the season against Cal State San Marcos on March 19. Hit a two-run homer as part of a 3-for-4 day with four RBI in a 6-4 win over San Francisco State on April 1. Also homered against Sonoma State on April 15. Hit safely in 21 games and had 11 multi-hit games. Also pitched 2/3 of an inning while getting a double-play grounder with his only pitch against Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 4. Earned 2022-23 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors and received a 2022-23 D2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement award.

At Cal State San Bernardino: Pitched a scoreless inning for the Coyotes in his one appearance in 2020. Hit .342 in summer ball and was a Sunset League All-Star.

At Chino Hills High School: Hit .407 and earned second-team All-League honors. Received a Silver Slugger Award.

Personal: Son of Lorenzo and Irma Tovar. Majoring in criminal justice. Enjoys lifting weights and hanging out with friends. Lists hitting a walk-off home run against Cal State Monterey Bay as his most exciting experience in sports.
