Cal State LA Athletics

2023: Made 11 appearance in relief in his second and final season with the program. Had a 1-0 record and one save with a 6.86 earned run average over 19 2/3 innings. Made his season debut and retired the only batter he faced against Montana State-Billings on Feb. 7. Pitched a scoreless ninth inning and got the win in an 11-7 victory in 10 innings at Chico State on May 5. Picked up the save with three scoreless innings in a win over Sonoma State on April 15. Gave up three hits and walked one with one strikeout. For his career, made 17 appearances with four starts. Was 1-2 with a 9.82 earned run average and one save over 36 2/3 innings pitched.

2022: Made a strong impact for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Appeared in six games with four starts before suffering a season-ending injury in April. Had an 0-2 record and pitched a total of 17 innings. Struck out 20. Made his Cal State LA debut and pitched 1 1/3 innings against Montana State Billings on Feb. 6. Pitched a season-long four innings and gave up five hits and two runs against Stanislaus State on Feb. 27. Also pitched four innings in his final outing of the season against Chico State on April 2. Gave up seven hits and three runs.

At Paradise Valley College: Tossed a total of 22 2/3 innings in 2020-21 with 19 strikeouts and an 8.82 earned run average.

At Arizona State: Was one of only three freshmen pitchers to see action for the Sun Devils in his one year with the program. Appeared in four games, all in relief. Had a 1-2-3, nine-pitching inning against USC and recorded a second scoreless inning against Washington.

At Chaparral High School: Rated the No. 11 right-handed pitcher and No. 33 overall player in the state of Arizona and drew top-500 ratings in the nation by Perfect Game. Named a 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game All-American honorable mention and West All-Region first-team honors. Pitched for three seasons on the school’s varsity team and finished his high school career with a 7-2 record and a 3.51 earned run average in 25 appearances (17 starts). Was named to the Arizona 5A All-Star team in 2017.

Personal: Son of Chris Davis and Jennifer Holdaway. Majoring in communications. Enjoys hanging out with friends and family, watching television, golfing and traveling. Lists pitching a complete game as his most exciting experience in sports. Was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 23^rd round in 2017, but elected to attend Arizona State instead. Notes he does not play basketball.
