Cal State LA Athletics

2019: Had a tremendous season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Appeared in 36 games with 32 starts. Hit .316 with 30 hits in 95 at bats. Had five doubles, eight runs batted in and 10 runs scored. Was also one of the team's best pitchers. Went 4-3 with a 4.52 earned run average. Was second on the team with 63 2/3 innings pitched. Allowed 51 hits and 32 earned runs. Walked 35 and struck out a team-high 58. Earned All-West Region honorable mention from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Earned first-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Also received a CCAA Spring All-Academic Award. Went 3-for-5 with two runs scored against Cal State East Bay on April 26. Also had three hits in six at bats at Sonoma State on April 6. Went 1-for-5 with a season-high two RBI against Cal State East Bay on April 27. Had seven multi-hit games. On the mound, allowed only six hits and two runs over eight innings to pick up his first win of the season, a 5-3 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 10. Also got a victory with a strong seven-inning effort against San Francisco State on March 31. Allowed only six hits and two earned runs and struck out a season-high 10. Went a season-high 8 1/3 innings and got the victory in a 9-5 win at Sonoma State on April 7. 

At Cal State Bakersfield: Had a 5-4 record with a 4.59 earned run average in 2018. Led the team in wins and was third on the team in ERA. Second on the team with innings pitched with 64 2/3. Made 13 appearances with a career-high 10 starts last season. Missed two years after Tommy John surgery. Made his first appearance in more than 1,000 days against Cal State Northridge on Feb. 27. Made 31 appearances and recorded three wins in 2014-15.

Personal: Son of Jeff and Kelly Daily. Majored in liberal studies. Pursuing a graduate degree in industrial technical studies. Lists playing for Cal State LA as his most exciting experience in sports. Says he is working toward a career as a fireman.
