2021: Was on the roster, but team did not compete due to COVID-19 in his final year with the program. For his career, went 0-1 with one save and had an earned run average of 2.87. Appeared in 13 games, all in relief. Pitched a total of 15 2/3 innings with 13 walks and nine strikeouts.

2020: Was on the roster, but did not compete in any games for the Golden Eagles.

2019: Had a strong first season with the Golden Eagles. Had the team’s best earned run average at 2.87. Went 0-1 with one save and pitched a total of 15 2/3 innings. Pitched a season-long 2 2/3 innings and gave up two hits and one run in a 7-6 loss to Cal State East Bay on April 27. Did not allow a run in eight of his 13 appearances. Didn’t allow more than one run in any outing. Entered the game with the bases loaded and got the final two outs for a save in a 9-5 win at Sonoma State on April 7.

At Cathedral High School: Earned All-CIF honors as a junior and senior and first-team All-League honors all four years in high school. Was a four-year varsity team member. Was on the school’s Honor Roll. Participated in the Area Code Games and the Junior Olympics.

Personal: Son of Alvaro and Dora Virgen. Majoring in criminal justice. Enjoys playing video games, sleeping and going out and doing fun stuff. Lists playing the Area Code Games and Junior Olympics for the USA National Team and earning All-Tournament honors at the Perfect Game Tournament as his most exciting experiences in sports.
