2022: Had a solid season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Appeared in 36 games with 30 starts. Hit .202 with 20 hits in 99 at bats. Collected 15 runs batted in and nine runs scored. Had two hits in a game six times and drove in two runs in a game five times. Went 2-for-3 with a two-run double in a 4-3 win against Stanislaus State on Feb. 26. For his career, appeared in 48 games with 36 starts. Hit .202 with 24 hits in 119 at bats. Scored 14 runs and had 15 RBI.

2021: Earned California Collegiate Athletic Association 2021 Spring Academic Honor Roll recognition. Team did not compete due to COVID-19.

2020: Contributed for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program before the season was halted. Appeared in 12 games with six starts. Hit .200 with four hits in 20 at bats. Scored five runs. Made his Cal State LA debut and went 1-for-2 against Dixie State on Feb. 8. Went 1-for-2 with a double and two runs scored in a 9-7 win over Cal State Monterey Bay on Feb. 16. Also scored a pair of runs in an 8-4 win over Cal State Monterey Bay on Feb. 15. Earned 2020 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors.

At Citrus College: Hit .340 in his career with an on-base percentage of .405. Had 21 steals, 57 runs batted in and 62 runs scored. Earned All-Western State-East second team honors in 2018 and earned a conference Gold Glove Award in 2019. Was also a team captain.

At Bishop Amat High School: Competed in baseball and football. Led the state in tackles for defensive backs in football and was part of a 2015 Mission League Championship Team.

Personal: Son of Gabriel and Tara Chavez. Majoring in business-entrepreneurship. Enjoys playing with his puppy, Rufus, spending time with friends and video games. Lists being a starting free safety on a nationally-ranked football team as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he has a sister, Francesca.
