2023: Made bigger contributions for the Golden Eagles in his second and final season with the program. Made 11 appearances, all in relief. Had a 0-0 record and a 4.00 earned run average in nine innings. Retired the only batter he faced in the sixth inning of a 10-9 win over Colorado School of Mines on Feb. 18. Pitched a career-high two innings and gave up three hits and one earned run against San Francisco State on April 1. Had his best outing when he pitched two scoreless innings against Sonoma State on April 16. Didn’t allow a run over his last four outings, covering 3 2/3 innings. For his career, made 17 appearances, all in relief. Had a 0-0 record with a 10.57 earned run average over 15 1/3 innings pitched.  

2022: Made six appearances, all in relief, for the Golden Eagles. Had a 0-0 record and pitched a total of 6 1/3 innings. Made his Cal State LA debut and pitched 2/3 of an inning at Biola on Feb. 19. Struck out the only batter he faced against Chico State on April 3.

2021: Was on the roster, but team did not compete due to COVID-19.

At Oak Hills High School: Ended his high school career with a 2.22 earned run average, 101 strikeouts and a .652 winning percentage. Received the RBI Tournament Most Valuable Player Award two years in a row. Was on a team that won three league championships in a row and reached the CIF semi-finals twice in three years. Carried a 4.0 grade point average as a freshman and sophomore and maintained a 3.8 grade point average during his junior and senior years. Was on the school’s Honor Roll all four years.

Personal: Son of Reynaldo and Tammera Rangel. Majoring in electrical engineering. Enjoys golf, video games, and hanging out with family and friends. Lists reaching the semi-finals of the CIF Division 2 during his junior year and pitching an eight-inning, two-hitter in North Carolina in a USA Baseball National Team Identification Series game as his most exciting experiences in sports.
