Cal State LA Athletics

2022: Had a fantastic first season with the Golden Eagles in his one year on the field with the program. Appeared and started in 49 of the team’s 50 games. Led the Golden Eagles with a .362 batting average. Had 67 hits in 185 at bats with 45 runs scored and 36 runs batted in. Also led the team in on-base percentage (.462), was second in slugging percentage (.519), second in runs scored and fourth in RBI. Was also a perfect 15-for-15 in stolen bases, also leading the team in that category. Earned first-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors and second-team All-West Region honors from three organizations. Made his Cal State LA debut and went 2-for-3 with a walk against Montana State Billings on Feb. 4. Went 5-for-5 with a season-high four RBI at Biola on Feb. 17. Was 9-for-16 with five runs scored and five RBI in the four-game series and was named CCAA Player of the Week. Hit safely in 35 games and had 21 multi-hit games, including the one five-hit game, two four-hit games and four three-hit games. Earned CCAA 2021-22 All-Academic honors.

2021: Was on the roster, but team did not compete due to COVID-19.

At Glendora High School: Competed in baseball and football.

Personal: Son of Al and Pam Salgado. Is an undeclared major. Enjoys working out and going to the beach. Lists making new friends as his most exciting experience in sports.
