Cal State LA Athletics

2019: Was a main part of the bullpen for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Made eight appearances and had a 0-2 record with a 12.38 earned run average and two saves. Pitched a total of 16 innings. Allowed only one inning over the final three innings to pick up the save in a 9-5 win over Cal Poly Pomona on March 1. Also pitched the final three innings to pick up the save in a 15-10 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 9. For his career, made 21 appearances with eight starts. Had a 2-8 record with an 8.46 earned run average and two saves.

2018: Made an immediate impact for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Made 13 appearances, including eight starts. Compiled a 2-6 record with a 7.35 earned run average. Was fourth on the team in innings pitched with 56 1/3 and walked 15 with 37 strikeouts. Allowed only two earned runs over six innings to pick up his first win of the season, a 4-3 decision against Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 18. Recorded his second win after allowing five hits and two runs over five innings of a 9-4 victory over Sonoma State on April 13. Had two scoreless outings in relief. Blanked Cal State San Marcos on five hits over five innings on April 20. Didn’t allow a run over three innings against Chico State on March 30. Allowed only three runs in 14 2/3 innings during a four-game relief stretch in the middle of the season.  
 
At Glendale College: Had two successful seasons in junior college. Was 6-0 with a 2.78 earned run average in 2017 with 64 2/3 innings pitched. Appeared in 14 games with 10 starts. Was 2-1 with a 4.30 earned run average in 2016. Made 14 appearances, all in relief, and pitched a total of 14 2/3 innings.
 
At Marshall High School: Had seven wins and a 0.93 earned run average as a senior with 62 strikeouts in 68 innings pitched.
 
Personal: Son of Pedro and Florina Lerma. Majoring in sociology.
