Cal State LA Athletics

2020: Was having a second outstanding year for the Golden Eagles when the season was halted. Started in all 20 games. Hit .342 with 26 hits in 76 at bats. Had two doubles, 13 runs scored and seven runs batted in. Led the team in batting average, runs scored, walks (8) and on-base percentage (.419). Had the team's only stolen base in one attempt. Hit safely in 14 of 20 games and had eight multi-hit games. Had a season-high three hits in four games, including three of the last six. Went 3-for-5 with one run scored and a season-high three RBI in an 8-7 win at Stanislaus State on March 8. Had a go-ahead two-run single in the top of the eighth inning to complete a five-run rally. Went 6-for-9 with three runs scored and one RBI in a doubleheader at Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 1. In two seasons with the program, appeared and started in 65 games. Recorded 84 hits in 248 at bats for a .339 batting average. Had one home run, one triple, 11 doubles, 61 runs scored and 27 RBI.

2019: Had a sensational first season with the Golden Eagles. Was a fixture at the top of the batting order and led the team with a .337 batting average. Had 58 hits in 172 at bats. Earned first-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors and All-West Region honorable mention from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Scored a team-high 48 runs. Started all 45 games for the Golden Eagles. Went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI at Dixie State on Feb. 9. Also had a four-hit game and scored a pair of runs against Cal State East Bay on April 26. Had 15 multi-hit games and hit safely in 37 of 45 games. Had a season-high 15-game hitting streak during the year and hit safely in five of the team’s last six games. Hit a three-run ninth-inning home run at Chico State on March 24.

At University of San Diego: Was a redshirt.

At Irvine Valley College: Earned first-team All-Conference honors after hitting .353 with 34 runs scored and 28 runs batted in. Appeared in 40 games with 39 starts. Hit .311 in 15 games as a freshman.

At Mission Viejo High School: Earned first-team All-League, first-team All-CIF, second-team All-County and third-team All-State during his senior year. Was on a CIF championship team in 2015. Competed in baseball, football and basketball.

Personal: Son of Brook Odekirk. Majoring in criminology.
