Cal State LA Athletics

2022: Was a key part of the pitching staff once again in his final year with the program. Appeared in 14 games with two starts. Pitched a total of 20 innings. Went 1-1 with one save and an 11.25 earned run average. Tossed three scoreless innings to pick up his first career save in a win at Cal State San Marcos on March 6. Allowed three runs over 3 2/3 innings of relief and got his first career win in a 9-8 victory at San Francisco State on May 5. Struck out a career-high seven over 3 1/3 innings of relief at Cal State San Bernardino on March 25. For his career, appeared in 19 games with four starts. Had a 1-3 record with an 11.28 earned run average. Pitched a total of 34 1/3 innings with 18 walks and 28 strikeouts.

2021: Was on the roster, but team did not compete due to COVID-19.

2020: Made immediate contributions for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program before the season was halted. Posted a 0-2 record with an 11.25 earned run average. Made five appearances, including two starts. Was fifth on the team in innings pitched during the shortened season with 14 1/3. Made his Cal State LA debut and tossed three innings against Dixie State on Feb. 9. Pitched two scoreless innings of relief against Cal Poly Pomona on Feb. 23. Went a season-long 4 1/3 innings and allowed two runs in an 8-7 win at Stanislaus State on March 7. Walked one and struck out a season-high three.

At Mt. San Antonio College: Was a key part of the team’s starting rotation in two years with the program. Appeared in 17 games with 15 starts last season as a sophomore. Had a 5-5 record with a 6.01 earned run average. Pitched a total of 120 innings in his two seasons.

At Walnut High School: Earned first-team All-League honors in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Was on the All-San Gabriel Valley Tribune Team and team was a CIF runner-up. Competed in baseball and football.

Personal: Son of Chris and Lisa Longoria. Majoring in liberal studies. Enjoys collecting sports memorabilia, playing childhood video games, and going to the movies. Lists playing with his best friends in high school and making a playoff run with Mt. SAC during the 2019 season as his most exciting experiences in sports.
