Biography

2019: Had another fantastic season for the Golden Eagles to complete a remarkable four-year career with the program. Won her third California Collegiate Athletic Association championship in the long jump and finished second in the 100 meters and in the 4x100 relay. Had best marks of 11.72 in the 100, 25.58 in the 200 and 19-1.25 in the long jump. Earned second-team All-America honors in the 100 after finishing 12th in the nation. Earned All-West Region honors in the long jump and 100. Also had another strong indoor season. Had best marks of 7.54 in the 60, 26.24 in the 200 and 18-9 in the long jump. Earned All-West Region honors in the 60 and long jump. Earned 2018-19 CCAA All-Academic honors. For her career, won four conference championships and 10 All-CCAA awards. Also earned a total of four All-America awards and 15 All-West Region awards. Had best marks of 11.55 in the 100, 24.10 in the 200 and 19-9.50 in the long jump in outdoor track and field and 7.45 in the 60, 25.54 in the 200 and 19-2.75 in the long jump in indoor track. Finished her career No. 9 all-time in the 100 and No. 9 all-time in the long jump in outdoor track and field and No. 2 all-time in the long jump, tied for No. 2 in the 60 and No. 9 in the 200 in indoor track and field.
 
2018:
Had a tremendous third season with the Golden Eagles and earned three All-America awards in indoor and outdoor track and field. Won two California Collegiate Athletic Association individual championships. Set a new conference meet record in the 100 with a time of 11.55 in the prelims before winning the title one day later. That time is No. 8 all-time at Cal State LA in that event. Also won her second conference title in the long jump and finished third in the 200 to give her three more All-CCAA awards and a total of eight in her career. Earned All-America honors in the 100 and long jump at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Finished seventh in the 100 to receive first-team honors and earned second-team honors with an 11th-place finish in the long jump. Also earned first-team All-America honors in indoor track and field with a fifth-place finish in the 60. Best time of 7.45 is No. 2 all-time in that event. Earned three All-Region awards in outdoor track (100, 200, long jump) and two in indoor track (60, long jump). Earned the department's 2017-18 Billie Jean King Award as Cal State L.A.'s top female athlete. Had best marks of 10.55 in the 100, 24.10 in the 200 and 19-8 in the long jump in outdoor track and 8.36 in the 60, 25.54 in the 200 19-2.75 in the long jump in indoor track.

2017: Had an outstanding second season with the Golden Eagles. Placed in three more events at the CCAA Championships and earned two more All-Conference awards. Finished second in the conference in the 100 meters and third in the 200 with best times of 11.77 in the 100 and 24.23 in the 200. Had the team’s best mark in the long jump with a career-best jump of 19-9.50 and finished fourth in the conference. Posted NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the 100, 200 and long jump and made the championship field in the long jump and 100. Finished 13th in the nation in the long jump and 15th in the 100. Earned All-West Region honors in the 100, 200 and long jump. Finished the season ninth all-time at Cal State LA in the long jump. Earned a CCAA All-Academic Award. Also competed for Cal State LA’s indoor track and field team and had best marks of 7.80 in the 60 and 17-6.25 in the long jump.

2016: Had a tremendous first season with the Golden Eagles. Won the CCAA championship in the long jump with a personal best of 19-1.25. Was named the conference’s Freshman of the Meet. Also placed third in the 100 meters and earned All-CCAA third-team honors for that event. Was part of the 4x100 relay team that finished third in the conference. Earned All-West Region honors in the long jump and 4x100 relay. Had best marks of 12.03 in the 100 and 25.34 in the 200. Also competed for Cal State LA’s indoor track and field team and had best marks of 7.74 in the 60, 25.73 in the 200 and 16-5 in the long jump.

At Franklin High School: Was the sprinter of the year in 2014 and 2015, the Most Valuable Runner in 2013 and the SUSD Track Girls Athlete of the Year. Won league championships in the long jump and triple jump and was second in the San Joaquin Section Masters Meet in the long jump. Was also second in the long jump in the San Joaquin Section I finals. Had a best mark of 19-1 in the long jump. Competed in track and field and basketball and was a cheerleader.

Personal: Daughter of Johnny Miles and Mia Gulley. Majoring in political science with a pre-law option. Enjoys reading, binge-watching TV shows, naps, shoes and eating. Lists traveling to Florida for her first NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships as her most exciting experience in sports. Says she does it for Juan, may he rest in peace. Younger sister, Jayla, is on Cal State LA’s women’s track and field roster.
