Biography

2020: Competed for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program before the season was halted after three meets. Had best times of 15.31 in the 100 meters and 32.84 in the 200. For her career, had best marks of 14.99 in the 100, 31.03 in the 200, 2:54.54 in the 800 and 6:17.79 in the 1,500.

2019: Ran sprints for the Golden Eagles in her third season with the program. Had best times of 14.99 in the 100 meters and 31.03 in the 200.

2018: Competed for a second season with the Golden Eagles’ track and field team and had best times of 2:54.54 in the 800 and 6:21.82 in the 1,500. Ran in three meets for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall. Had a best 5,000-meter time of 22:56.8 at the Highlander Invitational at UC Riverside.

2017: Recorded best marks of 2:58.27 in the 800 and 6:17.79 in the 1,500 in her first year with the track and field program. Competed in six meets for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall. Finished 111th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 28:28.9 over 6,000 meters. Had a best time of 23:54.5 over 5,000 meters while finishing 44th at the Vanguard Invitational.

2016: Competed in four meets for Cal State LA’s cross country team in her first year with the program. Finished 118th in the CCAA Championships with a time of 30:43.7 over 6,000 meters.

At San Gabriel High School: Competed in badminton, cross country and track and field. Earned the Los Renombrados award for academic and school involvement, which is the school’s highest honor. Was the team MVP of her cross country team and also won two Most Inspirational Runner awards and a Most Improved award.

Personal: Daughter of Andy Tam and Eliza Hor. Majoring in political science and history. Enjoys grabbing boba with friends, games (video and board), creating music and trying new things. Lists the switch from running the 1,500 meters to the 100 last season as her most exciting experience in sports.
