Biography

2021: Was on the track and field roster, but team did not compete due to COVID-19 in her final year with the program. Competed for the cross country team in the fall and ran in six meets. Finished 63rd in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 23:48.3 over 6,000 meters. Finished 140th in the NCAA West Regionals with a time of 25:12.2 over 6,000 meters. Had a best 5,000-meter time of 20:46.56 while finishing 128th at the UC Riverside Invitational. For her career in track and field, had best marks of 5:21.80 in the 1,500, 11:16.22 in the 3,000, 19:33.01 in the 5,000 and 41:40.14 in the 10,000 in outdoor and 19:43.54 in the 5,000 in indoor.

2020: Competed well for Cal State LA’s track and field team in the shortened outdoor season. Had a best time of 11:16.22 in the 3,000 meters. Also had a best time of 19:43.54 in the 5,000 in indoor track. Was part of a distance medley relay team that had a best mark of 13:09.13. That mark is No. 7 all-time at Cal State LA.

2019: Had a strong first season for the Golden Eagles’ track and field team in the spring. Placed 12th in the 10,000 meters in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships. Had best times of 5:21.80 in the 1,500, 11:39.11 in the 3,000, 19:33.01 in the 5,000 and 41:40.14 in the 10,000. Had a strong second season with Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall. Competed in all seven meets for the Golden Eagles and was the team’s No. 4 runner. Finished 63rd in the CCAA Championships with a time of 24:20.72 over 6,000 meters and was 115th in the NCAA Division II West Regional with a time of 22:44.8 over 6,000 meters.

2018: Had an outstanding first season with Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall. Competed in all eight races and was regularly one of the team’s top runners. Had a best finish of 28th in the Redlands Invitational on Sept. 1 with a time of 18:48.5 over 4,500 meters. Finished 101st in the CCAA Championships with a time of 27:07.4 over 6,000 meters. Placed 173rd in the NCAA Division II West Regionals with a time of 26:08.4 over 6,000 meters.

At Rancho Alamitos High School: Was a two-time team Most Valuable Player in cross country as a junior and senior. Earned first-team All-League honors in track and field in 2017 and was the MVP for girls distance track in 2017 and earned the Coaches Award for track and field in 2018. Received the OCDA Student-Athlete of Character Award in 2017.

Personal: Daughter of Lorenzo and Alicia Luna. Majoring in exercise science. Enjoys binge-watching shows and movies. Lists practicing with friends as her most exciting experience in sports. Notes she loves gummy bears and food and that she goes by “Bells.”
