Cal State LA Athletics

2020: Returned to competition for Cal State LA's outdoor track and field team in the spring before the season was halted. Had a best time of 2:37.27 in the 800 meters at the Cal State LA Invitational on Feb. 29. For her career, had best times of 2:22.40 in the 800, 5:18.45 in the 1,500 and 19:40.82 in the 5,000.

2019: Did not compete in track and field and was a redshirt. Competed for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall and ran in four races. Had a best time of 21:50.54 over 5,000 meters at the Coyote Challenge on Sept. 21.

2018: Was one of the top distance runners for the Golden Eagles in her first year with the track and field program. Had best times of 2:22.40 in the 800, 5:18.45 in the 1,500 and 19:40.82 in the 5,000. Finished 17^th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships in the 800. Did not compete for the cross country team in the fall and was a redshirt.

2017: Was one of the top runners on the cross country team. Competed in all seven competitions for the Golden Eagles. Was the team’s No. 2 runner at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships and finished 76^th with a time of 23:57.7 over 6,000 meters. Was the team’s No. 5 runner at the NCAA West Regionals and was 168^th with a time of 24:44.1.

At Cerritos College: Was the team’s No. 1 runner at the state championships while leading the Falcons to a 13^th-place team finish.

At Downey High School: Was on the cross country and track and field teams for four years. Was named the team captain.

Personal: Daughter of Sergio and Ernestina Velasco. Majoring in computer science. Enjoys drawing.
