Biography

2019: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Started all 45 games for the Golden Eagles. Hit .257 with 46 hits in 179 at bats. Had five home runs and 34 runs batted in. Also scored 24 runs. Was second on the team in home runs and RBI. Went 3-for-5 with a season-high four RBI against Colorado Mesa on Feb. 9. Also had three hits in an earlier game that same day at Dixie State. Went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in a 15-10 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 9. Went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI at Cal State Monterey Bay on Feb. 22. Went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a 10-7 win at UC San Diego on April 20. Had 17 multi-hit games, including four three-hit games. For his career, appeared in 63 games with 60 starts. Hit .277 with 65 hits in 235 at bats. Had 10 home runs, 51 RBI and 37 runs scored.

2018: Returned from injury and was one of the team’s best players down the stretch. Hit a team-high .339 in 18 game appearances, including 15 starts. Was fourth on the team with five home runs. Had 19 hits in 56 at bats and scored 13 runs with 17 RBI. Made his Cal State LA debut and singled in his first at bat against Sonoma State on April 13. Went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI against Sonoma State on April 15. Went 3-for-5 with a home run and a season-high four RBI against Cal State San Marcos on April 21. Had a solo home run at UC San Diego on April 26. Hit home runs in back-to-back games against Cal State San Bernardino on May 4 and May 5.Had four multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games.

2017: Did not appear in any games for the Golden Eagles and was a redshirt.

At Mt. San Antonio College: Was on the Dean’s List and Honor Roll. Hit .299 as a sophomore with one home run, 17 runs scored and 23 RBI as a sophomore.

At Eastlake High School:  Earned first-team All-League honors as a senior. Earned second-team honors as a junior. Was a four-year varsity starter and had a career batting average of .335. Was on the Honor Roll all four years of high school.

Personal: Son of Jay and Lisa Sundahl. Majoring in business marketing. Enjoys surfing, skimboarding and photography. Lists winning big-time games as his most exciting experiences in sports. Says it’s always #ComebackSZN and also says, “Spencer Sundahl and Nate Alam, name a better duo.”
