Cal State LA Athletics

2019: Made big contributions for the Golden Eagles in his final season with the program. Made eight appearances and started three times. Pitched a total of 23 2/3 innings. Had a 0-0 record with a 6.46 earned run average and one save. Walked 18 and struck out 17. Allowed only an unearned run over the final three innings of a 9-3 win over San Francisco State on March 29 for his first career save. Walked only one and struck out four. Had a career-high six strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings of an 11-5 win over UC San Diego on April 18. Got the start and went 4/2 innings. Allowed seven hits and two earned runs. Made his first career start and went three innings at Dixie State on Feb. 9. Made his third and final start and went a season-long seven innings against Cal State East Bay on April 26. For his career, made 24 appearances and started three times. Had a 2-0 record with a  6.80 earned run average and one save. Pitched a total of 47 2/3 innings. Had 44 walks and 38 strikeouts.

2018: Was a part of Cal State LA’s bullpen for a second straight year. Recorded a 1-0 record with an 8.78 earned run average. Made eight appearances, all in relief, and pitched a total of 13 1/3 innings. Walked 13 and struck out 12. Pitched two scoreless innings of relief to get the win against British Columbia on Feb. 17. Struck out nine batters over his final four outings spanning nine innings.

2017: Got his Cal State LA career off to a promising start in his first year with the program. Made eight relief appearances and pitched a total of 10 2/3 innings. Was 1-0 with a 5.06 earned run average. Walked 13 and struck out nine. Picked up a victory after getting two outs of relief in a win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 3. Struck out a season-high four in a three-inning relief outing against Cal State San Bernardino on Feb. 24.

At Barstow Community College: Attended Barstow and Riverside Community Colleges.

At Granite Hills High School: Recorded 27 strikeouts in 23 innings pitched. Hit .410 as a senior.

Personal: Son of Bob and Cindy Nazabal. Majoring in business. Enjoys making music.
