Cal State LA Athletics

2013: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Started all 57 games for the Golden Eagles. Hit .314 with 70 hits in 223 at bats. Had two home runs, 25 doubles, one triple, 37 runs scored and 42 runs batted in. Was fourth on the team in RBI and fifth in batting average. Earned second-team All-West Region honors from Daktronics and the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings. Also earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Went 4-for-5 with three doubles, a home run, three runs scored and four RBI in an 11-9 victory over UC San Diego on March 15. Also had a four-hit game with a double and two RBI against California Baptist on Feb. 2. Had a season-high five RBI, including a three-run double in an 11-9 win at Cal State Dominguez Hills on April 26. Also went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI against Dixie State on Feb. 10. Had 20 multi-hit games, including five games with three or more hits.

At San Jose State: Played for three seasons with the Spartans from 2010-12. Played in 44 games with 35 starts in 2012 and led the team with 11 doubles and 20 RBI. Made all 35 starts at third base.  Appeared in 60 of San Jose State’s 61 games in 20111 with 52 starts at third base. Led the team with six home runs and 25 RBI. Was also second on the team with 26 walks. Had a multi-home run game against Albany on Feb. 23. Made 16 appearances for the Spartans in 2010 and made three starts at designated hitter. Had two home runs with four runs and five RBI in 24 at bats. Also made one pitching appearance, tossing 2/3 of an inning against Sacramento State on May 1.

At Leigh High School: Earned second-team All-Blossom Valley Athletic League honors. Was an ESPN RISE Magazine All-Bay Area selection in 2009. Helped team to the Central Coast Section Division II quarterfinals hitting .306 with 21 runs, eight doubles, five home runs and 25 RBI. Also made four starts in nine appearances on the mound. Earned BVAL Junior of the Year honors in 2008 after hitting .465 with four home runs, 17 doubles, 38 runs and 36 RBI.

Personal: Son of Steve and Kim Christian. Majoring in communication. Enjoys wakeboarding and snowboarding.
