Summary

Biography

2013: Contributed for a fourth season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Appeared in 18 games with two starts. Hit .158 with three hits in 19 at bats. Had one double, two runs scored and one run batted in. Went 1-for-4 with an RBI at California Baptist on Feb. 2 and had a hit and run scored in three at bats in an 8-2 win over Fresno Pacific on Feb. 23. Had a pinch-hit double at UC San Diego on March 16. For his career, appeared in 94 games with 57 starts. Hit .273 with 62 hits in 227 at bats. Had five home runs, 43 runs scored and 37 RBI.

2012: Appeared in 13 games and made five starts in his third season with the Golden Eagles. Hit .350 with seven hits in 20 at bats. Scored five runs and had three RBI. Drove in runs in consecutive games at Concordia on Feb. 8, at Biola on Feb. 13 and against Cal State Stanislaus on Feb. 19.
 
2011: Appeared in 26 games for the Golden Eagles in his second season with the program and started 19 times. Hit .208 with 13 runs scored and five RBI. Started the season with a five-game hitting streak and hit safely in nine of the first 10 games. Had four multi-hit games. Finished the season on a good note by going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI against Cal Poly Pomona on May 7.
 
2010: Made a big impact for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Hit .319 with five home runs, 28 RBI and 23 runs scored. Was fourth on the team in batting average, third in runs batted in and second in home runs. Drove in four runs in three games. Was 3-for-4 with four RBI against Cal State San Bernardino on Feb. 28, 2-for-2 with four RBI at Cal State Monterey Bay on March 14 and 3-for-4 with four RBI against Cal State San Marcos on March 20. Had 12 multi-hit games and finished the season with a six-game hitting streak.
 
At Capistrano Valley High School: Earned second-team All-South Coast League honors. Hit .293 in 32 games as a senior. Team won the CIF Division I championship in 2009.
 
Personal: Son of Ed and Wendy Castro. Majoring in business. Enjoys going to the beach and barbeques. Lists winning the CIF Championship at Angel Stadium in his senior season of high school as his most exciting experience in sports.
