Cal State LA Athletics

2013: Provided depth at catcher for the Golden Eagles in his second and final year with the program. Appeared in five games with three starts. Went 0-8 with two runs batted in. Delivered a sacrifice fly to drive in a run in an 8-2 win over Fresno Pacific on March 23. Also had a sacrifice fly in a win over Cal State East Bay in an 11-9 win on April 13. For his career, appeared in 20 games with 11 starts. Hit .179 with seven hits in 39 at bats. Had four runs scored and five RBI. 

2012: Contributed to the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Appeared in 15 games with eight starts. Hit .226 with seven hits in 31 at bats. Drove in three runs and scored four. Was 3-for-9 with two runs scored and two RBI in three games at Cal State Monterey Bay on April 6-7. Played well defensively and made only one error in 65 chances.

At L.A. Valley College: Was the team’s Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore.  Hit .224 with 19 hits in 85 at bats and threw out 16 potential base runners.

At Grant High School: Earned All-League honors in his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Was the Most Valuable Player on his team as a senior. Earned the “No ‘I’ in Team” Award as a sophomore.

Personal: Son of Jose and Erica Arce. Majoring in Kinesiology.
